Anatomy Learning Lab
Located on the E level of the Health Sciences Library, the Anatomy Learning Lab is intended to enhance the study of the human body.
The 10 specimens placed throughout the space provide the opportunity for close study of torsos, a hand, foot, kidneys and other body systems.
Students are invited to use these to gain a deeper understanding of the structural and functional complexities of the human body.
Anatomical books and atlases are also located in the space to support learning.
The Specimens
The plastinated specimens located in the Anatomy Learning Lab were preserved at von Hagens Plastination in Germany through a process that turns donor tissue into durable learning aids. More information about the process and about the company can be found on the von Hagens website.
The Health Sciences Library does ask that individuals using the collection be respectful of the donor tissue and abstain from touching or moving the items. Also please keep all food and drinks off of the tables.
