- Borrowing & Returning
-
All University of Cincinnati students, faculty, and staff, as well as patrons in good standing from affiliated institutions may borrow materials from the UC Blue Ash (UCBA) Library with a valid photo ID. Most affiliated borrowers without an existing UC Library record will need to present additional documentation to verify their affiliated institution or status. Please contact the Library for more information: 745-5710.
-
Library materials may be returned to the UC Blue Ash Library or any UC Library.
- Faculty members only may specify an administrative assistant or spouse to access and utilize their library account. To facilitate this, faculty members must:
Submit a letter on departmental letterhead that specifies the proxy borrower’s name, M number, and timeframe if applicable.
The letter should be submitted in person at the UCBA Library Circulation Desk. A notation of the authorization will be added to the faculty member’s record.
The proxy borrower must present his/her own ID at check out.
Faculty members are responsible for the materials checked out on their accounts by their proxy borrowers.

- Requesting Library Materials
- UC Materials
- UC faculty, staff and students may request available materials from other University of Cincinnati libraries to be sent to the UC library of their choice for pick up. Locate the appropriate record for the book desired in the UC library catalog and choose the “Request” option. You will be prompted to enter your Central Login Username (6+2) and Password. This is the same Username and Password combination you use for Blackboard, OneStop and UCFlex. Complete the requested information and choose the library where the book is to be delivered. These items arrive in generally 2-3 business days. You will be notified via e-mail when the book is available for pick up. You may also view Your Library Record to check on the status of your request.
- OhioLINK Materials
- When desired materials are not available from any University of Cincinnati library location, patrons may request available items from an OhioLINK library. Search for materials in the OhioLINK Library Catalog and request items using the “Request This Item” link in the record. You will be prompted to enter your Central Login Username (6+2) and Password. This is the same Username and Password combination you use for Blackboard, OneStop and UCFlex. Complete the requested information and choose the library where the book is to be delivered. Materials from other OhioLINK libraries generally arrive within 3-5 business days. You will be notified via e-mail when the book is available for pick up. You may also view Your Library Record to check on the status of your request. Patrons may also visit other OhioLINK libraries and borrow materials directly with their UC ID.
- Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad)
- Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service which obtains materials that are unavailable for request through the University of Cincinnati libraries or OhioLINK. You can request books and articles, monitor the progress of your requests and update your profile through an ILLiad account. For more information and to submit a request though ILLiad, please visit the UC Libraries ILLiad site at http://illiad.uc.edu/index.html.
