| This summer, University Libraries embarked on strategic planning to chart the course for the next three to five years. A Strategic Planning Committee was formed and they have proposed an aggressive work schedule with the goal of completing the planning process by December 2002. Thus far, with participation from all staff of University Libraries, preliminary mission and vision statements have been drafted as well as work begun on articulating the values of the organization and performing an internal assessment. Library staff participated in two planning sessions with consultant Maureen Sullivan who is guiding us through this process. Once the planning process is complete, the Strategic Planning
Committee will publish the results and develop an implementation
plan.
