The Music Listening Center Lab in the College-Conservatory
of Music (CCM) Library has been upgraded with new equipment
and software through the collaboration between CCM computing
staff and University Libraries.
The lab, which is used to listen to and compose music, received
a new printer and 12 new computers with upgraded software.
These improvements allow the lab to run more efficiently and
to better serve users' needs.
The Music Listening Center Lab provides the full range of
composition capability through the use of Musical Instrument
Digital Interface (MIDI) keyboards that work in conjunction
with the latest version of Finale (music composing and typesetting
software).
The lab also provides research access to the library's large
collection of online resources (full text and beyond). Users
may access streaming media sites, including the CCM online
audio reserves, which enhance the cassette tape and CD reserves
by making them available online through University Libraries'
new E-Reserves service.
Visit the CCM Music Listening Center Lab to see and hear what
is new and improved; and maybe even try your hand at making
some beautiful music!
