Archives and Rare Books--A Rich Resource Anna Truman, Records Specialist/Archivist, anna.truman@uc.edu |
| October
6-12 was Archives Week in Ohio. Archives Week is an annual event
designed to foster greater awareness of the archives and rich
collections held in Ohio and the nation. Each year features
a different theme allowing archives to showcase the wide array
of holdings normally not readily available to the public. This year's theme was Business and Labor in Archives. University Libraries' Archives and Rare Books Department is the repository for such collections as the Cincinnati Chapter of AFL-CIO, and a whole host of local chapters of smaller unions, including the Distillery, Rectifying, and Wine Workers Union; Barber's Union; and Cincinnati Printing Pressman. For more information about the resources available in Archives and Rare Books, visit them in Blegen Library or online at <www.archives.uc.edu>.
