A fun time was had by all January 30 as the Libraries celebrated the renovated Student Technology Resources Center (STRC) and Adaptive Technologies with an open house and reception. Senior Vice Provost Kristi Nelson started the event with remarks about Dean and University Librarian Xuemao Wang's first semester at UC. Xuemao then told attendees about the renovated STRC and Adaptive Technologies, which debuted this fall on the 4th floor of Langsam Library. Library staff showcased the services and technology available to users while visitors filmed themselves in the green room saying lines from famous videos. Supported by student ITIE funds, the STRC assists students with their instructional technology needs by providing access to technology and software to create videos, websites, images and more. Located adjacent to the STRC, Adaptive Technologies offers students, faculty and staff with disabilities access to adaptive equipment for use in accessing and using library resources. |
