These past 10 years have seen a lot of change in the UC Libraries – all of which have been reported here. We merged libraries (Mathematics with Geology-Physics and Applied Science with Engineering); expanded the Curriculum Resources Center to become the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services Library; welcomed a new library with the addition of the Donald C. Harrison Health Sciences Library in 2008; and, in the past year, we relocated and renovated two libraries: the Albino Gorno Memorial (CCM) Music Library and the John Miller Burnam Classical Library.
Our collections have grown from 2.8 million volumes to over 4 million currently. We have moved full steam ahead into the digital era both by acquiring a vast array of digital resources and by digitizing significant items from our own collections, including: the Oesper Collections in the History of Chemistry, The Cincinnatian, Cooperative Engineer, and The News Record. These stories and more from the full run of Source are available online at www.libraries.uc.edu/source. As we move into the second decade of Source, we thought it appropriate to freshen up the look. The cover has been redesigned to bring more attention to the cover image. And what a perfect image to highlight this issue than that of our grand, new sculpture found in Langsam Library – Triceracopter. We hope you enjoy Source and continue to read it in the years to come. |

This volume celebrates the 10th anniversary of our newsletter, Source. Started in 2002, Source is one of the primary ways in which we tell the story of the UC Libraries to faculty, students, staff, and friends. Over the years, we have featured new services available in the libraries, highlighted resources and collections, and reported on special events, library renovations, exhibits, and staff news.
