OhioLINK's Electronic Journal Center Grows

OhioLINK logoThe seven millionth article was recently added to OhioLINK’s Electronic Journal Center (EJC). The EJC, available via <www.ohiolink.edu>, provides students, faculty, and staff at participating OhioLINK institutions with instantaneous online access to more than 6,900 journal titles from 90+ publishers covering a wide range of disciplines.

Faculty and students from across the state use the Electronic Journal Center. From May 2005 through April 2006, OhioLINK users downloaded 4.81 million scholarly articles from the EJC. Users from the University of Cincinnati downloaded over 392,000 articles in 2005. The top three databases with the most downloads from UC users in 2005 were Elsevier Science with 182,900 downloads, Wiley with 40,671 downloads, and Blackwell Science with 26,235 downloads. A total of 21.9 million articles have been downloaded from the EJC since its inception in April 1998.
