A Generous GiftPeggy Wolf, Director of Development, peggy.wolf@uc.edu |
| A gift for The Architecture and Urban Planning Collection (read more about this online collection on online) came from Bruce C. Levy, DAAP ’75, an urban planning major. He said he was inspired by Professor Harris Forusz who: “instilled the importance of visual literacy to us as future urban designers. Back in the 1970s, every class he taught was accompanied by a trio of slide projectors. He fully understood the value of teaching ‘how to see.’ My involvement today in this endeavor is to honor his memory by helping support this new online resource.” Reflecting on his college years, Mr. Levy recalls spending hours in the DAA Library (as it was known then), absorbing all that he could - pouring through books, plans, maps, photo essays, drawings; even examining the scale models of great urban spaces on display there. “With the debut of the library’s urban images project, now everyone can benefit from viewing infinite details appearing throughout the built environment. Now, similar research can be done by anyone who shares these interests, from anywhere, thanks to this effort.” Mr. Levy has offered to match gifts from other donors to the Bruce C. Levy Fund for Urban Design and Planning Digital Image Collection, up to a pre-determined maximum amount. To make an online donation to the Libraries, visit <www.giveto.uc.edu>. Please specify your contribution is for University Libraries and write in the special instruction area “The Bruce C. Levy Fund,” if you choose to contribute to this digitization project. All donations that are not restricted to this project will be directed to the Libraries’ Annual Fund. For further information, please contact Peggy Wolf, Director of Development, at (513) 556-0055.
