“We are honored and excited to partner with the Cincinnati Art Museum,” said Nancy L. Zimpher, President of the University of Cincinnati. “Our institutions are both anchors for our urban setting. I welcome this opportunity to put a more formal stroke on our relationship. It will be good for the two of us, but more importantly it will be good for our region as a whole.” The partnership fosters a heightened level of engagement between UC and the Art Museum that will result in a wide array of cross-institutional, multi-disciplinary programs and opportunities. Among the activities planned as part of the partnership are: library resource-sharing, internships, exhibition design, digital projects, guest lectures, and faculty and staff exchanges. Already, events have been held to engage UC students and faculty with the Art Museum, including a Student Career Night and All Professors Night at which UC faculty met with Art Museum curators and educators to learn about museum collections and upcoming exhibits. “This collaboration marks an important day for the community,” said Aaron Betsky, Director of the Cincinnati Art Museum. “It will give students and educators greater access to the hidden treasures which are housed in this museum. We are honored to partner and reconnect with the University of Cincinnati to ensure these resources are shared with the local community and the world.”
