E-News @ Your Library: One-millionth URL added to the UC Library Catalog |
| The UC Libraries reached a significant milestone on January 15, 2010, when the one-millionth URL was added to the UC Library Catalog with the link to: Stowel, John. A Sallad for the Young Ladies & Gentlemen of Douglas. Raised by Tom the Gardener. (Price Fourpence a Bunch.) Liverpool, Printed in the year 1790. URLs are links listed in the UC Library Catalog for all types of online resources, including OhioLINK e-resources, online databases, e-journals, e-books, electronic theses and dissertations, streaming videos, government documents, and more. URLs in the UC Library Catalog link users directly to content at the point of discovery. In the six years since the first tracking of URLs in the UC Library Catalog, there has been a ten-fold increase in the total from just over 100,000 in 2004, to over 500,000 in 2008, to one million URLs and counting in the Library Catalog as of January 2010. The one-millionth URL was part of a UC Library Catalog record load that accompanied the addition of Eighteenth Century Collections Online, Part II: Early Editions.
