For those of you who have not yet had the occasion to visit the CCM Library in its new location on the 6th floor of Blegen Library, I encourage you to do so as it truly is a spectacular space. The library includes a computer and listening lab, group study and microfilm rooms, areas for study and reading, and open stacks for the library’s collections of books, periodicals, scores, and recordings. The centerpiece of the renovated library is the handsome, high-ceiled reading room with historic chandeliers and attractive built-in oak bookcases. In this issue of Source you can read more about the history of the Albino Gorno Memorial Music Library, from its humble beginnings 61 years ago to today’s vibrant library comprising over 180,000 items serving the students, faculty, and staff of CCM. |
