Come explore the library that Sarah and Zek call home. In January, the Albino Gorno Memorial Music (CCM) Library moved to a new location on the 6th floor of Blegen Library. Accessible via the grand staircase in Blegen Library, the renovated CCM Library includes a computer and listening lab, group study and microfilm rooms, areas for study and reading, and space for the library’s collections of books, periodicals, and scores. The centerpiece of the new CCM Library is the handsome Reading Room with tall windows, historic chandeliers, and wooden bookcases. For Sarah Johnson, a first-year undergraduate CCM student majoring in music history who plays the flute in the Wind Ensemble, the
For Zek Wardlaw, a second-year graduate student working on a master’s degree in trombone performance, “everything that (he) needs is here” at the CCM Library from computers to music scores to study space. He finds both the journal and CD collection impressive and if there are particular CDs that he needs for his graduate work, the librarians are quick to order them. In preparing for his oral exams, Wardlaw has found the journals most useful in studying the history of trombone. His favorite place in the library is the audio listening center.
