University Libraries - Moving Forward with Your Help

As a nationally ranked research library, University Libraries strives to provide excellent research collections, quality service, responsive instruction and training, and inviting facilities to an ever-growing University of Cincinnati community. As UC moves forward to implement the ambitious UC|21 academic plan under the leadership of President Nancy Zimpher, University Libraries will become even more vital to the success of “the new urban research university.”

The continued efforts to improve the Libraries’ collections and facilities depend upon generous private support from donors. There are many ways to give to University Libraries, including:

making a gift that is unrestricted so that the library can direct funding to areas of greatest need.
designating a gift for a specific college or departmental library.
establishing an endowment for a specific college library or collection, such as history, literature, or business.
helping support the cataloging and preservation of unique collections acquired by the library.
making a memorial or tribute gift to acknowledge a family member, friend, or colleague.
donating a personal library of unique books or materials.

As the end of 2004 approaches, this season provides a good time to review charitable giving and consider making a gift to University Libraries. Gifts may be made in a variety of forms: outright gifts such as cash, securities, and real estate, or planned gifts such as bequests, trusts, retirement assets, and gift annuities. All gifts are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by IRS rules.
