Working together, the library community and I completed and launched our new Strategic Plan, Transforming the UC Library User Experience, 2011-2014, in September. In addition to articulating the mission, vision, and core values of the Libraries, the plan outlines the strategic directions that will guide our efforts and initiatives over the next three years. Our ambitious goals are grouped into five key areas: Authoritative and Scholarly Content; Integration into Teaching, Learning, Reseach, and Health Care; Library Facilities; Technological Environment; and Assessment. 
The new plan marks the third time in 10 years that more than 90% of our library staff and faculty have dedicated themselves to the collective action of creating a three-year strategic plan to guide the future of the Libraries. Discussing, drafting, vetting, and then implementing library priorities has become second nature for our organization. I am confident that this newest group effort will go a long way toward truly “Transforming the UC Library User
