A Note from the Dean

On March 25, 2009, the University of Cincinnati Libraries celebrated the naming of the Henry R. Winkler Center for the History of the Health Professions. The reception featured
remarks from John J. McDonough, chair of the Center’s Advisory Board, Anthony J. Perzigian, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, and, of course, President Emeritus Henry R. Winkler who was introduced by his son Allan Winkler,
Distingushed Professor of History at Miami University.

The reception was attended by many friends and colleagues spanning Henry’s long and distinguished career in higher education -- both as an administrator and as a professor of history. Henry’s contributions to theUniversity of Cincinnati and to the Center are many, and the Libraries are both honored and thrilled by the naming of this important Center after him.
