Description: The Southwest Ohio Regional Depository (SWORD) provides remote storage of permanently held, but little used, library materials from Miami University, the University of Cincinnati, and Wright State University. The depository is one of 5 such facilities in Ohio. By controlling the temperature and humidity levels, SWORD provides an excellent preservation environment for storing materials in an economical, high-density shelving system. To maximize storage capacity, materials are shelved by size rather than by call number and are located by bar-code.
SWORD is not designed for on-site use. However, special arrangements can be made should unusual or urgent research circumstances arise such as requiring a large number of volumes, etc. Contact the depository staff at 513-727-3475 at least 24 hours in advance to arrange a visit.
