Demography & Population Studies

Date of Access:

July 13, 2004

Description:

The World Wide Web Virtual Library (VL) is the oldest catalog of the web, started by Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of html and the web itself. Unlike commercial catalogs, it is run by a loose confederation of volunteers, who compile pages of key links for particular areas in which they are expert; even though it isn't the biggest index of the web, the VL pages are widely recognized as being amongst the highest-quality guides to particular sections of the web. The VL provides links to the following: associated virtual libraries, census and data servers, electronic journals, historical demography resources, discussion lists, demography & population conferences, misc. demography & population sites and other sites of use to demographers.    This site provides a search engine to search its resources.
