American and French Research on the Treasury of the French Language (ARTFL):
The University of Cincinnati provides access to the ARTFL database of texts and other electronic resources, including several dictionaries. ARTFL is a cooperative project of the Institut
National de la Langue Francaise of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the University of Chicago.
"At present the corpus consists of nearly 2000 texts, ranging from classic works of French literature to various kinds of non-fiction prose and technical writing. The eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries are about equally represented, with a smaller selection of seventeenth century texts as well as some medieval and Renaissance texts."
