Full-length Biographies and Autobiographies

     Full-length biographies and autobiographies of political figures in the library’s collections are listed in the library’s online catalog, Uclid.  Use the personal name of the biographee as the subject search term to locate full-length biographies. To locate autobiographies, use the personal name of the writer in an author search of the online catalog.  Full-length biographies and autobiographies in the collections of other academic libraries in Ohio are listed in OhioLINK, the combined online catalogs of Ohio’s colleges and universities.

Carroll’s Online Connect
     Updated daily, Carroll’s Online lists persons working for federal, state, county, and municipal governments.  The print edition is maintained for historical purposes.  Each part has a separate title.  Check in Uclid for call numbers and holdings information.

Chiefs of State and Cabinet Members of Foreign Governments
     Chiefs of State and Cabinet Members of Foreign Governments is updated weekly.  For historical purposes a print version is available covering the years 1974-2003 in the Langsam stacks JX1705.C5.  This source includes governments recognized by the United States as well as governments with which the United States has no diplomatic exchange.

      This is a comprehensive listing with short biographies of each state’s delegation with years in office, committee memberships, office building room number, telephone number, names of staffers, and similar information noted.  The Congressional Directory  also includes information on  court officials, Federal departments and agencies, including the District of Columbia,, and the military.  Governors of states and territories, foreign diplomats, and members of the press and other media are noted.
