Geographic and Historic Maps
- Reference Books
The following books provide a wide variety of basic maps and are shelved in the Reference section of the CECH Library.

- Curriculum Resource Center (online database)
Another source for accessing geographic and historic maps is provided through the Facts On File online database, Curriculum Resource Center.
To access the Curriculum Resource Center:
1. Go to the University Libraries homepage – http://www.libraries.uc.edu
2. Select “Library Catalog”
3. Click on “Title” and type: Curriculum Resource Center
4. Click on Curriculum Resource Center
5. Click on Connect to Facts on File Curriculum Resource Center (online)
6. Next click on “Curriculum Resource Center” for access to grades 6-12 maps and then click on “Geographical Maps” or “Historical Maps”;...or click on “Curriculum Resource: Junior Edition” for access to grades K – 5 maps and click on “Maps & Flags.” You can choose to have the maps with data or only an outline version.
The maps can be printed out and copied for students to fill in as a handout. Color transparencies can be made from these as well.

Maps can also be found by performing a Keyword search in UCLID and limit to the “CECH Library .” Type the geographic area for which you need a map plus the words “and map.” Eg., Japan and map
Maps in the CECH Library are intershelved along with posters and charts by call number in the large flat files.
