DATABASES

Small Business Resource Center (SBRC)
The Center includes resources on how to start, finance, market, and manage your small business. SBRC includes: Business plan handbooks, small business encyclopedias and sourcebooks, electronic books covering many aspects of small business management, and journal articles from small business journals.

ZEPHYR
Web-based database containing data on acquisitions, mergers, demergers, IPOs, planned IPOs, institutional buy-outs, joint ventures, management buy-ins, management buy-outs, minority stakes, share buy backs, private equity, league tables and news stories - no minimum deal value. Also links to detailed company financials. Search and screen variables including company names, industry, time period, geography, deal status, deal type, deal multiples and deal methods. 60,000 deals are added per year. The data goes back to the year 2000.

Money Tree
The MoneyTree Report is a quarterly study of venture capital investment activity in the United States. As a collaboration between PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association based upon data from Thomson Financial.

Network World  Venture Capital Database
This is a database of information from a survey conducted for Network World by PricewaterhouseCoopers, Thomson Venture Economics and the National Venture Capital Association. It lists recipients of funding from venture-capital firms for the past quarter. See who got VC money, how much, from whom and for what, using any of several different search criteria

VCDB (Venture Capital Database)

The idea behind VCDB was to see every venture firm in the US on an interactive map.  In addition VCDB lists investor biographies.  These contain valuable information regarding investment sector focus, histories, and affiliations, and should prove useful in helping connect entrepreneurs with interested financiers.
