Americans for the Arts

A searchable database of local, state, regional and national arts service organizations throughout the country – with contact information. You may search via state, program areas such as arts in education, community development, or public art, as well as by type of organization. Job Seekers can use the Job Bank's searchable database of nonprofit and for-profit arts management positions at organizations across the United States. Whether you are a seasoned professional or new to the field, this is the place to begin your search or post your resume to maximize your exposure.How to find it?  Go to Library Catalog, Search keywords: Americans for the Arts, login in to online version using the following password information obtained from a UC Librarian.

ArtJob Online

ArtJob is a resource to find comprehensive, up-to-date national listings of jobs, internships, fellowships and other employment opportunities in the arts. ArtJob is the source for professional opportunities and career information in all areas of the arts, including: visual arts, arts nonprofit's, performing arts, commercial art and design firms, film, public arts agencies, academic arts positions, galleries, internships, fellowships, conferences, commissions and more.  In addition, useful links to online articles, “advice” and other useful organizations including state arts councils.How to Find it? Go to Library catalog, search keywords ArtJob, login in using password information obtained from a library staff.

CAA News (College Art Association)

Published since 1976, CAA News presents information on CAA’s activities, programs, and conference; updates on legal issues; articles on the arts and academia; interviews with artists, scholars, and curators; member achievements; calls for entries, papers, and participation; and much more.  Web site includes section on Careers with job postings  as well as fellowships, residencies, exhibition opportunities and unpaid internships.

How to find it?  Search the library catalog by title CAA News.  Important – if you are using an Internet Service Provider other than UC – you must first login in to the Off Campus Proxy Server.

* Art Calendar: The Business Magazine for Visual Artists

A Newsletter published monthly, this publication provides general articles on aspects of managing visual arts careers – such as organizing your studio, safety issues, art law, principles of pricing as well as extensive listing of awards, conferences, fairs, festivals, juried shows, residencies, and competitions.

Art Calendar also maintains ArtScuttlebutt.com an artist discussion forum. This virtual artist’s support group is for anyone interested in art: from emerging artists to established professional artists. Topics include: business, supplies and education. Artists can meet, discuss techniques, and network at this online artist community.
