Display Guidelines
Goals
- Increase awareness, appreciation and use of RWC College Library by promoting its materials and services.
- Highlight Library materials which relate to campus events.
- Create interesting, creative and attractive displays which stimulate intellectual curiosity, educate, inform and entertain.
Display Areas
- The Library display is located to the right of the Library Entrance. Access is available from the front of the display via the hallway or through the back of the display via the Circulation Desk area.
Requesting Display Space
- Complete a Display Request Form (available at the Circulation Desk). Submit completed forms to: Michelle McKinney, Raymond Walters College Library, 115C Muntz, 513-745-5710.
- Display space is available for use by any RWC organization or department.
- Reservations should be made at least 2 weeks in advance of the proposed exhibit start date.
- There is no charge for display use, however, exhibitors are responsible for any special costs (supplies, etc.) incurred in the creation or mounting of displays.
- Scheduling priority is given to displays created by the Library.
- The Library reserves the right to reschedule, postpone, curtail or reject exhibits.
Display Materials
- Library materials on display are available for use and circulation. Contact the Circulation Desk staff to obtain an item on display.
- Library materials are encouraged to be used as a component of the display.
- Text and signage should be clear and large enough to read easily.
- The following display tools are available from the Library for display creation: quilter’s pins, variety of colored fabrics, letter stencil and decorative leaves.
- Exhibitors are responsible for mounting and removing exhibits.
- Exhibitors must provide a sign indicating the title or theme of the exhibit.
- Exhibitors must include a sign or label indicating the name of the organization or individual responsible for the exhibit.
Duration
- Displays may be scheduled for a maximum of six (6) weeks. Extensions may be granted on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Library.
Publicity
- Exhibitors must provide a brief description of the display along with contact information so that inquiries, suggestions or concerns regarding the display may be forwarded to the appropriate person.
- Displays will be highlighted on the Library News page of the RWC Library web site.
- Photos will be taken and maintained by the RWC Library for use on the web site and for historical records.
Security
- The glass display case is locked at all times, however the case is enclosed in glass and is at risk for damage or theft. RWC Library is not responsible for display items that are damaged, lost or stolen.
- Inclusion of valuables in the display is strongly discouraged.
