Collection Assessment
The library faculty participate in ongoing collection assessment in order to maintain a collection that meets the needs of RWC students, faculty and staff. Collaborating with faculty is an important component of this process.
Assessment is conducted in the following manner:

- Analyze the collection data for subject area
- Physically analyze each title within subject area
- Determine the Collection Depth Indicator (CDI) level that applies to the current collection
- Highlight titles to discard
- Meet with faculty member(s)
- Review the collection data including CDI's and available electronic resources in subject area
- Determine the Curriculum Required Collection Depth Indicator (CRCDI) level that will support the needs of the curriculum
- Provide suggestions on developing and maintaining the collection: acquisitions and titles to discard
- Withdraw selected titles
