The Walter C. Langsam Library, the central library, contains over 1,000,000 volumes in the social sciences and humanities, as well as over 200,000 volumes in government depository collections of state, federal, and international documents. Many library services and departments are housed in Langsam Library including InfoCommons, the Student Technology Resources Center, Multimedia Services, Library Instruction, and general reference services.

- Named for Cincinnati poet George Elliston, the Elliston Poetry Room contains a 20th-century collection of over 10,000 books, magazines, and recordings.
- Faculty Study Rooms, 5th and 6th Floors
- Langsam Library has a limited number of Faculty Study Rooms available for use on a first-come and first-serve basis. These rooms are located on the 5th and 6th floors in Langsam. Because of the high demand for rooms, all applicants will need to share a study room. \

- The maximum length of time for use of a faculty study room is one year.

Getting to UC and Langsam Library
UC students, faculty, staff and community members are welcome to use Langsam Library for research and study from its opening time each day until 6pm. A photo ID is required for access to Langsam Library after 6pm.
