Electronic
Journal Center - FREE to UC.EDU workstations.
- Complete the brief
fill-in form. After you submit the form, you will be able to gain access to the
special version of the Electronic Journal Center for registered users. This will
enable you to save search histories and be automatically notified via e-mail of
new articles from particular journals or on particular topics.
IEEE
publications Ingenta (incorporating
UnCover/REVEAL) - FREE to UC.EDU email addresses.
- Register
and WAIT 24 HOURS to give the U.C. Library time to pay your $25.00 annual fee,
then you can begin using the customized options, including Reveal Research Alerts.
This is an automated alerting service that delivers the table of contents of your
favorite periodicals directly to your e-mail box. The Reveal service also allows
users to create search strategies for their favorite topics. These search strategies
are then run against the entire Ingenta/UnCover database and weekly alerts on
the latest articles published on the specified topics are delivered to the user's
e-mail address.
Elsevier
Science - provides a number of alerting and awareness services in support
of its journal publishing program.

Direct - FREE a free pre-publication contents alerting service from Elsevier
Science! If you have e-mail, you have access to ContentsDirect for all Elsevier
Science journals. ContentsDirect delivers the tables of contents pages by e-mail
directly to your PC. Imprints covered by this service are Elsevier, Pergamon,
North Holland and Excerpta Medica.

Web or e-mail. Each confidential service is unique in customization, service,

of Science - FREE from your UC.EDU workstation
- COS Funding
Alert is available for U.C. FACULTY AND STAFF . COS Funding Alert is a personalized
electronic notification service of funding information. COS Funding Alert subscribers
receive a weekly e-mail with a customized list of funding opportunities
based on previously specified criteria provided by the individual COS members.
- To sign up for the funding alert your must first be in the database.
You can sign up on the Add
Your Profile page. After about a week your username and password will be activated.
Login onto Funding Alert and create up to
five searches off of which the alerts will run. You can access these searches
online, OR if you want the results emailed to you each Monday, click on FEEDBACK
and send an email to Community of Science Funding Opportunities telling them to
activate email access to your alerts.

Custom News Service - FREE The Custom News Service is an email- and web-based
alert service, designed to help anyone with an interest in NSF news and publications
find out quickly about new publications and information. It is a "custom" service
that lets you select the types of publications you want to know about. It alerts
you to new publications and provides links to electronic copies.

Alerts
- National
Library of Medicine - FREE - NIH Clinical Alerts and Advisories - NLM began
offering clinical alert notices online in January 1991. Clinical alerts are provided
to expedite the release of findings from the NIH-funded clinical trials where
such release could significantly affect morbidity and mortality. There are
currently: 20 clinical alerts and 3 clinical advisories
