VISUAL RESOURCES

The library provides access to numerous online digital image resources including ARTstor, OhioLINK Digital Media Center, Associated Press Photo Archive, Bridgeman Art Library, and Art Resource, along with many links to images in design, architecture, art and planning.

Featured Digital Image Databases:

Architecture and Urban Planning Collection

The Architecture and Urban Planning Collection contains a variety of images from many sources. Included in the collection are images of urban planning projects from China, Africa, Europe, and the United States. Many of these images represent research projects of the College of Design Architecture, Art and Planning faculty and students. Images of the built environment are from the Cincinnati Preservation Association, professional and amateur photographers, and from students and staff at the University of Cincinnati. These images are available to the general public. The collection is growing continually.

The DAAP Digital Image Teaching Collection

The DAAP Digital Image Teaching Collection represents core images required to support the DAAP curriculum.  These images span a broad spectrum of the visual arts including contemporary performance artists to urban landscapes.

You must be using the UC network to view this collection.  From home, if you are not accessing the UC network using the UC Remote Access modems, but instead use a commercial Internet Service Provider such as ZoomTown or RoadRunner, then please obtain the free Virtual Private Networks (VPN) Client from UCit (requires registration).

ARTstor

ARTstor http://www.artstor.org/   is a continually expanding image database covering architecture, painting, photography, sculpture, decorative arts and design. ARTstor's software tools allow the viewing and analyzing images through features such as zooming and panning, saving groups of images online for personal or shared uses, and creating and delivering both online and offline presentations.
