E-Books

Many e-books (often referred to as online books or electronic books) are cataloged and may be searched via the UC Library Catalog (link to UC Library Catalog) You will find a link to the electronic book via the library catalog record. When conducting a search in the library catalog, you can also limit your search to only “electronic formats” which often helps locate e-books.

Many e-books are accessible via collections that the Library has purchased. Often the title of the collection is listed in the Library Catalog and a link is provided to the collection web site that provides a full listing of the titles. Many of the collections are part of the OhioLINK Electronic Book Center which offers thousands of scholarly and reference e-books covering the humanities, sciences and social sciences

E-Book Center contains electronic books purchased by Ohio academic libraries from these publishers:
  • ABC-CLIO: educational reference books – encyclopedias, handbooks, biographical collections, guides – on many specialized topics, primarily in the humanities and social sciences.

  • Oxford University Press: important scholarly books, both classic and newly-published works, in the humanities and social sciences. Oxford imprints include OUP Oxford, OUP USA, and Clarendon Press.

  • Springer: high-quality scientific, technological and medical books.
