ABI/Inform

Article citations and some full text articles in business-related publication, includes citations from the Journal of the American Planning Association.

ACM Digital Library

Full-text articles from ACM journals, magazines and conference proceedings from 1991 forward. Tables of contents of articles and proceedings from 1983.  

Applied Science and Technology Index

Covers over 400 core English language scientific and technical publications since 1983.  Topics include engineering, acoustics, chemistry, computers, metallurgy, physics, plastics, telecommunications, transportation, and waste management.  Updated monthly.  

Architectural Index

Provides citations to a small list of major architectural magazines and is particularly useful for locating information on recent building projects and for locating information by geographic site or architect/designer. Coverage varies, but most periodicals are indexed from the early 1980's.

Art Abstracts

Provides comprehensive abstracting and indexing for over 300 leading international art publications, including periodicals, yearbooks, and museum bulletings.  This database offers broad coverage of art topics, including advertising, archaeology, crafts, folk art, graphic arts, interior design, video, film, architecture, and art history.

ArtBibiliographies Modern
 
Provides coverage of significant publications on subjects from 1850 to the present. Good for European art, performance art and photography. 

Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals

Indexes more than 1,000 periodicals published worldwide on archaeology, city planning, interior design, and historic preservation, as well as architecture. 

BHA: Bibliography of the History of Art

Covering European and American art from late antiquity to the present, the Bibliography of the History of Art indexes and abstracts art-related books, conference proceedings and dissertations, exhibition and dealer's catalogs, and articles from more than 2,500 periodicals.  The BHA is updated quarterly and covers 1973 to the present, with more than 469,000 records.

Biography Index

Biography Indexes provides access to biographical  material in books and journals.  This database contains the following types of citations: (1) articles in journals, newspapers, etc., (2) articles or chapters in books, and (3) entire books (individual biographies) and collective biographies (reference works with many biographical entries).

Book Review Digest

Cites and provides excerpts of reviews of current English-language fiction and nonfiction books. A summary of the book is also provided. This database indexes reviews from more than 89 leading periodicals published in the United States, Canada, and Great Britain. Current fiction and nonfiction, both adult and juvenile, in the humanities, social sciences, and general sciences are included.

Business & Industry Database (B&I)

Indexes articles, 60% full-text, from over 900 trade publications. Excellent source for industry, marketing, and product information. Covers over 190 countries.

Design and Applied Arts Index

British publication indexing numerous journals in the area of design arts covering subjects such as auto, fashion, graphic and product design.

Dictionary of Art Online

The Grove Dictionary of Art contains 45,000 articles on every aspect of the visual arts – painting, sculpture, graphic arts, architecture, decorative arts and photography – from prehistory to the present day. Compiled over a period of 15 years, it represents the work of more than 6,800 scholars from around the world, each writing on his or her own specialist field of study.

Dissertation Abstracts

Provides citations to over 1 million doctoral dissertations and 45,000 masters theses from 550 U.S. and foreign institutions going back to 1861. Abstracts are provided from 1980- Abstracts are provided for citations after 1980. Masters abstracts since 1988. Updated monthly.

Dow Jones Interactive

Dow Jones Interactive offers a wealth of textual business information. In the "Publications Library" you can search and retrieve Full-text articles from 5,000 newspapers, trade journals, and newswires. In the "Business Newsstand" section you can browse the full-text of the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and the Financial Times. In the "Company and Industry" section you can get a "Financial Snapshot", a "Financial Profile", a "Company Screening Report", "Company Vs. Industry Comparisons", or "SEC Full-Text Filings". 

Ekistic Index of Periodicals

Print index to articles primarily on international planning and develoment.

Ergonomics Abstracts

Major database to literature of ergonomics.

Expanded Academic ASAP

Provides access to articles from over 500 full-text journals in a variety of disciplines.

General BusinessFile

Covers almost 1,100 periodicals in most areas of business. Full-text for over 480 periodicals. Includes INVSTEXT (Wall Street Research Reports).

GPO Monthly Catalog

Monthly Catalog of U.S. Government Publications. Coverage begins with 1976, and the database is updated monthly.

GrantSelect

GrantSelect is the online version of the GRANTS Database, produced by The Oryx Press, containing over 10,000 funding opportunities provided by over 3,400 sponsoring organizations.  Provides information on over 8,000 grants offered by federal, state, and local governments; commercial organizations; associations; and private foundations. Each entry includes full description, qualifications, money available, and renewability. Name, address, and telephone number for each sponsoring organization are included when available.

Healthstar

HealthSTAR is a bibliographic database containing citations to the published literature on Health Services Technology, Administration, and Research. HealthSTAR contains citations, with abstracts if available, for journal articles, technical and government reports, meeting papers and abstracts, books and book chapters.  This database covers international literature on health care planning and facilities, health insurance, financial management, manpower planning, and personnel administration from 1975-present.

International Development Abstracts

Selected abstracts from journals dealing with various areas of development such as, agriculture, environment, economic conditions, financial sector debt, industry, water and energy.

JSTOR

Backfiles of scholarly journals. Most files start with the journal's inception to 1991.  Full-Text of the journals are available for browsing, searching, and downloading.

Lexis/Nexis UNIVERSE

This service is a modified version of the original Lexis/Nexis which provides Internet access to some of the most popular files of LEXIS-NEXIS with easy, forms-based searching. There are nearly 20 basic libraries including: General News, Company News Industry & Market News, Company Financial Information Country Profiles, State Profiles, Biographical Information, Reference & Directories Law Reviews,  Federal Case Law,  Accounting, Auditing & Tax -- Many of the sources available on the traditional plan with some limitations on searching capabilities.  For most searches, UNIVERSE may be adequate. However, for complex research, the original Lexis/Nexis is more powerful or try Dow Jones Interactive on the web.

Newsdex- Available only from CINCH- catalog of Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County

Index to local newspapers in the Cincinnati Area. Starts from the early 20th century.

Newspaper Abstracts

Provides abstracts to articles from 27 U.S. Newspapers with weekly updates from 1989-present. Papers include the American Banker, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Christian Science Monitor, Atlanta Journal, Boston Globe, Washington Post and USA Today. Coverage is from 1986 to present with quarterly updates.

Ohio Capitol Connection

Ohio leglislative and governmental information service, including bill tracking, the full text of bills, the administrative code and revised code, committee rosters, and legislator information.

PAIS

PAIS International database covers the literature of public affairs -- current issues and actions which affect world communities, countries, people, and governments. This database provides access to articles, books, and documents addressing important political, economic and social issues. PAIS concentrates on topics
that are or might become the subject of legislation.

Periodical Abstracts

Provides access to articles from over 500 journals in all disciplines.

Predicasts PROMT

Provides access to articles from over 700 full text trade and industry journals. Excellent source for marketing information. Multi-industry database for business research applications with international coverage of companies, markets, and technologies. Includes summaries and full text from nearly 1,000 business and trade journals, industry newsletters, newspapers, market research studies, news releases, and investment and brokerage firm reports.

PsycINFO

PsycINFO, produced by the American Psychological Association, is a collection of electronically stored bibliographic references--most with abstracts or content summaries. It contains citations that PsycINFO has created in electronic form. Although the references themselves are all written in English, the covered literature includes material published in over 45 countries and written in 30 languages. This is the premier psychological data base of books, journals, dissertations and book chapters. It is of interest to management and marketing researchers. PsycInfo covers 1,300 journals from 1967-present. The citation including a full length abstract is fully searchable.

REIS

23 Years of economic data for U.S. States, Counties and Metro areas. Data includes: Personal income by major source; Per capita personal income; Earning by SIC two-digit industry; Full and part-time employment by SIC one-digit industry; Regional economic profiles; Transfer payments by major program; Farm income and expenses.

Sage Urban Studies Abstracts

Contains more than 250 seperate abstracts of recent literature on urban affairs. Indexes, books, articles, pamphlets, speeches, government publications and research studies.

Social Sciences Citation Index

The Social Sciences Citation Index is a multidisciplinary database, with searchable author abstracts, covering the journal literature of the social sciences. It indexes 1,700 journals spanning 50 disciplines, as well as covering individually selected, relevant items from over 3,300 of the world's leading scientific and technical journals.

Standard and Poor's Advantage

Standard & Poor's Advantage includes 10 major publications of S&P, The outlook, Corporation Records, Mutual Funds, Bond Guide, Stock guide, Dividend Record, Stock Reports, Industry Surveys, Earnings Guide, and the Register of Corporations and Executives. The database is fully integrated, so that you can get a stock report on a company then link to the other publications that has information on that company. Advanced searching is also available. 

STAT-USA

STAT-USA is operated by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Over 700 daily updated files, contain current economic and trade information, such as business statistics, economic indicators, foreign trade, monetary statistics, national income, price and productivity statistics, regional economic statistics, summaries of current economic conditions, U.S. treasury auction results, and employment statistics. 

Transport

TRANSPORT is a bibliographic database of transportation research and economic information. It is produced by the 25-nation Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), together with the United States' Transportation Research Board (TRB) and the 31 nations of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT). TRANSPORT combines the following databases: Transportation Research Information Services (TRIS) from TRB includes 300,000 bibliographic citations, most with abstracts, of research information on all surface transportation modes, air transport, and highway safety. International Road Research Documentation (IRRD) from OECD contains 200,000 abstracts on highway research provided by OECD member countries. TRANSDOC from ECMT contains 37,000 abstracts of transportation economics literature as well as bibliographic records provided by the International Union of Railways (UIC). 

UnCover

UnCover provides current article information from over 17,000 multidisciplinary journals and offers document delivery services for a fee. Users can also use Reveal, an automated alerting service that delivers the table of contents of periodicals directly to e-mail and CARLweb,  which allows users to search library catalogs on the CARL Network.   FOR DETAILS ON UNCOVER/UNCOVER 2 AND HOW TO OBTAIN ARTICLES, CHECK WITH THE INTERLIBRARY LOAN OFFICE OR DAAP LIBRARY STAFF.

Worldcat

A database of book holdings of 3,000 libraries in the U.S., Canada and some from abroad. In addition to bibliographic data, the system can identify who holds a book or serial publication. The system is searchable by author, title and subject.

World Development Indicators

The World Bank's major statistical product. Covers time-series for 400 indicators from the print publication plus 100 indicators from the "World Tables" which ceased publication in book format.
