SWORD (South West Ohio Regional Depository)
Requests made through UCLID for materials at SWORD (South West Ohio Regional
Depository) will be available in 2 - 3 business days. Journal articles from
SWORD can be ordered through the University Libraries' ILLiad
system, and also can be delivered electronically.
Recalls
Materials may be recalled for another borrower any time after 3 weeks. Books may be recalled for Reserve at any time. A $1 fine per day is charged for recalled materials not returned within the specified number of days. Borrowing privileges will be blocked if recalled materials are not returned. Daily fines remain on the borrower's record. Requesting an OhioLINK copy is often quicker then recalling a checked out item.
Renewals
Materials may be renewed online using the UCLID option: View Your Circulation Record, by phone at 556-1335, or in person at any Circulation Desk. Some restrictions may apply. Check with a library staff member for details.
Returns
Non-reserve materials (with the exception of slides) may be returned to the book drops at the following locations. (Receipts for returned materials are available upon request at the Circulation Desk.
--Book drop outside the DAAP Library.
--Book drop outside the Langsam Library Garage.
--Any University Libraries Circulation Desk.
Returning Reserves
Reserve items must be returned to the Circulation Desk from which
they were borrowed. A fine of $1 per hour will be charged for late return
of 2-hour reserve items; $8 per day for late return of 1 day and 3 day reserve
materials
Overdue Materials
Materials are due on the date shown in UCLID and stamped on the date-due slip. For each item not returned, a charge is issued for $100, the average cost of replacement. Cumulated charges may result in a block on borrowing privileges. Grades and transcripts may be withheld. In most cases, charges are removed when the item is returned. The fine for overdue OhioLINK items is 50 cents per day. Overdue fines for OhioLINK items and reserve materials remain on the borrower's record.
Notices
E-mail notices are sent for overdues, recalls, and items that are
ready for pick up. Borrowers should have e-mail addresses included
in their library record. If this is not the case, an e-mail address
can be inserted at the Circulation Desk. Borrowers should also View
their own record in UCLID to check due dates, requests and charges.
Lost Books
Lost books should be reported immediately to the Circulation Desk.
Overdue materials which the patron thinks have been returned should also be
reported immediately.
