A current UC photo I.D. is required to check out library materials. Non-university patrons may apply for borrowing cards at the Langsam Library Circulation Desk. Borrowing cards cannot be used for Interlibrary Loan or OhioLINK borrowing.

Some non-circulating items are only available Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm. Inquire at the Circulation Desk.
Materials may be recalled for another borrower anytime after 3 weeks. Books may be recalled for reserve at any time. A $1 fine per day is charged for recalled materials not returned within the specified number of days. Borrowing privileges will be blocked if recalled materials are not returned. Daily fines remain on the borrowing record.ReturnsRequesting an OhioLINK copy is often quicker than recalling a checked out item.

Materials may be renewed online using the Library Catalog option: View Your Circulation Record, by phone at 556-1498 or in person at the Circulation desk on the west campus. See Loan Periods above for the permitted number of renewals.Storage & SWORD
Requests made through the Library Catalog for materials in storage or in SWORD (SouthWest Ohio Regional Depository) will be available in 2-3 business days. Journal articles from SWORD are posted online the following day.Overdue Materials
Materials are due on the date shown in the Library Catalog and stamped on the date-due slip. For each item returned late, a charge is issued for $100, the average cost of replacement. Cumulated charges may result in a block on library privileges. Grades and transcripts may be withheld. In most cases, charges are removed when the item is returned.NoticesThe fine for overdue OhioLINK items is $0.50 per day.
Overdue videotapes are fined at $4 per day.
Lost Books
Lost books should be reported immediately to the Circulation Desk. Overdue materials which the patron thinks have been returned should also be reported immediately.
Notices are sent for overdues, recalls, and UC and Interlibrary Loan items that are ready for pick-up. Borrowers may sign up for email notification at any Circulation Desk. No notices are sent for OhioLINK items that are ready for pick-up or are overdue. Borrowers should view their own record in the Library Catalog to check due dates, requests and charges.Reserves
