The CECH Library has print PRAXIS Series study resources on reserve. These study guides may be borrowed for 24 hours or for up to three days. There are also online study guides and free resources available through the ETS and two databases: Testing and Education Reference Center and LearningExpressLibrary. The databases require that you register so that they can provide your scores. See our PRAXIS Test Tips guide for more information.
Children’s & Young Adult Books Publishers’ Preview Area: The CECH Library has created a special area adjacent to our regular children’s and young adult collection that features recently published books contributed by publishers. This provides an opportunity for teachers and library media specialists to review these newly published books. Such publishers as Simon and Schuster, Henry Holt and Company, Little Brown and Company and Farrar Straus Giroux are featured.
Phi Delta Kappa George H. Reavis Reading Center: The CECH Library receives all of the Phi Delta Kappa fastbacks and monographs as part of the George H. Reavis Reading Center program. These publications provide excellent discussions of current issues in the field of education.
NASA Educators Resource Center: The CECH Library is the site of a NASA Educators Resource Center (ERC). NASA has presented the CECH Library with a large number of videocassettes, slide/tape programs, CD-ROMs, unit teaching guides with hands-on activities and built on national standards, pictures, posters, and other publications. These materials have mostly been produced by NASA and are concerned with the U.S. space program as well as various other topics in science. New materials are constantly being added to the ERC. Teachers may bring their own blank VHS videocassettes and the CECH Library staff will make copies of requested NASA videos free of charge. This is an invaluable resource for school science curriculums as well as for other disciplines in elementary and secondary classrooms. NASA.gov serves as the gateway for information on Missions, Research, Programs, and Services offered by NASA. The educational sections provide educators access to curriculum support materials and resources produced through collaborations with NASA's mission directorates. These efforts result in innovative and informative educational materials that engage student interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Access educational resources online from NASA's Web site.
ESL resource center: Through a grant awarded to the ESL program of the College, the CECH Library has established an ESL resource center in which a wide variety of ESL teaching resources have been placed.
