In this Annual Report to the President for 1936-1937 Dean Schneider said that about 70% of the Engineering students participated in Hobby Hour that year. Reading in the library was one of the top three activities! "The faculty encourages attendance by increasing the average (grade) of the student by (three tenths) of a point ... based on attendance."
