Dorothy Byers is Head of the Engineering and Math Libraries at University of Cincinnati. Her office is in 858 Baldwin Hall.  She has been at UC for over 20 years. During that time she has built collections, staff, and space in response to demands from the active engineering faculty and students. Her present challenge is to operate both libraries with limited resources in the face of budget cuts by taking advantage of electronic services and supplying information on demand.

Dorothy has a BA in Music from Wellesley College and an MS and PhD in Information Studies from Syracuse University. She pursues her interest in music as a violinist, enjoys running to keep fit, and commutes by bike when possible.
