Winter 2008
In recent months, the CAS Library has received many new books, videos, and online resources (e.g. databases). A list of these items, arranged by subject, is linked below. New books, DVDs, and magazine/journal issues are available in the library entryway, near the circulation desk. Browse regularly, as items change daily.
Please email Susan Hight if you would like to hold any item for your use. Contact Ted Baldwin to recommend additional purchases. Your input and suggestions are welcome!

Across UC Libraries, general library workshops are also offered throughout the academic year. Online help is also available 24/7 through the chat reference service and How Do I ...? Tutorials.
We in the library are thrilled with the response to the Info Commons @ CAS during the last academic year! Students are using the increased computer resources for a variety of activities, including library research, writing papers, creating presentations, scanning images and documents, and developing multimedia projects.
If you would like to hold a class session or library instruction session in the Info Commons, please email Ted Baldwin (CAS Librarian) at Ted.Baldwin@uc.edu or by phone at 556-4211. You may reserve one pod (eight computers) at a time, during library open hours.
One special addition to the Info Commons in recent months:
Scifinder Scholar, a scientific literature searching program based on Chemical Abstracts, has been loaded on the pod of computers closest to the circulation desk. This program is very useful for locating journal articles on chemistry, chemical engineering and food science topics.
UC wireless network access is now available throughout the CAS Library. To reach the network, you need to first register your wireless card. For further assistance, please contact the UCit Help Desk or consult the College of Engineering's instructions for setting up a wireless connection.
The library has expanded its fleet of AV equipment. The following is now available in the Library AV closet for faculty/staff borrowing:
