This site provides access to resources that support the students in the horticulture program of the College of Applied Science.
Note: If you are accessing library resources from off-campus, you need to log in for Off Campus Access. Most of the resources on the library's Web site are restricted to authorized UC users only.
Use UCLID (UC’s Library Catalog) to locate books, periodicals, videos, and other materials owned by UC, and the OhioLINK catalog for items owned by other Ohio college and university libraries.
From the catalog menu, select SUBJECT and initiate your search using your topic terms (subject, place name or personal name).

To search specific words in the title, series title, organization, association, content notes, publisher, and subject, use the KEYWORD search option.
Use the LIMIT/SORT button to limit your results to items located at CAS Library, Electronic Resources, and other options. Use the REQUEST button to have Available materials delivered from other UC libraries.
If you don’t find items you want in UCLID or they are not Available, search OhioLINK, a shared catalog for Ohio's colleges and universities. Use the OhioLINK CENTRAL button to enter the database, perform a search, and request materials.
Reference resources in the Library are useful for selecting topics, quick descriptions, and general information. These include general and specific encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, almanacs, etc., that are frequently used. Most reference resources may only be used in the Library, but others are available online.

PERIODICALS can be used to keep up with the latest developments in a field, provide historical perspective and provide important information for research.

provides full text for nearly 3,600 scholarly business journals, including

virtually all subject areas, related to business. This database provides full
text (PDF) for more than 300 of the top scholarly journals dating as far back
as 1922. This database is updated on a daily basis via EBSCOhost.

Journal Center (EJC)
The Electronic Journal Center (EJC) is OhioLINK's collection of full-text
research journals. OhioLINK researchers can register to be notified by email
about new relevant articles according to subject, author, or journal title.

USDA Economics and Statistics
Service
From Cornell University, this system organizes over 300 economic reports on
agriculture. Find horticultural information under “Specialty Agriculture.”
Web Garden
Ohio State University’s databases of horticultural information has many
features including, plant fact sheets from other universities and government
resources, an answer database and a “Pocket Gardener” to download
images to your handheld computer.
