This site provides access to resources that support research in The World of Tea class, held at the College of Applied Science.
Note: If you are accessing library resources from off-campus, you need to log in for Off Campus Access. Most of the resources on the library's Web site are restricted to authorized UC users only.
Use UC Library Catalog (UCLID) to locate books, periodicals, videos, and other materials owned by UC, and the OhioLINK catalog for items owned by other Ohio college and university libraries.
To search across words in the title, series title, organization, association, content notes, publisher, and subject, start with the KEYWORD search option. Use the LIMIT/SORT button to limit your results to a particular library, online resources, or other option. Use the REQUEST button to order items from another UC library (allow 3-5 days).
For a step-by-step review of searching and ordering books, see the guide Searching UC and OhioLINK Library Catalogs (PDF file).
When researching specialized topics such as those relating to tea, a SUBJECT search may provide focused results in a particular area.
Related subject headings (Library of Congress system). Click to execute the subject search:
If you don’t find the items you want in UCLID, search OhioLINK, a library network of Ohio college and university catalogs. Use the OhioLINK CENTRAL button to enter the database, search and request materials (allow 5-7 days for delivery).
The Lloyd Library, located in downtown Cincinnati, will also be a useful resource for research in the areas of medicinal plants, pharmacy, and botany/horticulture. Lloyd Library research materials are searchable in the UC Library Catalog, but they may only be used at the library and cannot be sent to other locations.
Reference resources in the Library are useful for selecting research topics, finding brief descriptions, and locating citations to related in-depth resources. These include general and subject-specific encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, almanacs, etc. Most reference resources may only be used in the Library, but others are available to access online.
