 Election Results

A final stage in the political process is actually voting.  The University of Cincinnati Archives and Rare Books Library has several sources to help sort out how many people voted for which candidate and documents and images showing the voting process.

Sample ballots show who was running for office in a certain city or county.  A sample ballot from the 1950 election in Hamilton County, Ohio is displayed below:

The University of Cincinnati also holds a rare book that contains election results from all elections in Hamilton County between 1912 and 1935.9  It includes both primary and final elections, and results for candidates and bond issues.  Below are some sample images from this book:

Bond issues in the July 1914 primary do not look too different than those we often see on the ballot today and included raising funds for the fire and police departments and bridge repair.
