Hamilton County Ohio Wills, 1791-1901

The Archives & Rare Books Library holds original wills from Hamilton County Ohio filed in the probate court between 1791-1901. An index is available that contains the following information:

• Testator's given name and surname
• Testator's place of residence
• Date filed in probate court
• Executors
• Beneficiaries
• Case number (the earliest wills were not assigned case numbers)
• Box number

The index is sorted by surname and is available as a set of four pdf files. Each file is searchable using Adobe Reader's search function.

Copies of wills can be requested using the Genealogical Research Request Form. For each will that you request, please include the person's first and last name, the box number, and the case number if available. The minimum charge for mail service is $10, which covers up to 40 photocopies. You may also visit the library to view the wills in person and obtain copies for 25 cents/page.
