The event will highlight the recent renovation to the space and the services and technologies available in both areas.</p>

<p>At the same time, we will hold a reception with remarks from Interim Provost Lawrence Johnson about Dean and University Librarian Xuemao Wang’s first semester with UC Libraries.</p>
<p>The STRC is a student-centered service area designed to provide instructional technology resources and services to assist students who require specific software or equipment to complete course assignments. The Adaptive Technologies Office offers a wide array of enhanced services for patrons with disabilities, such as adaptive equipment and book retrieval.</p>
<p>The Open House and Reception will include demos and a show-and-tell about the services and resources available in both the STRC and Adaptive Technologies Office. <strong>Refreshments and party favors will also be available.</strong> The event is free and open to all, so bring a friend.</p>

<li>Debuting this fall, the newly redesigned <a href="http://www.libraries.uc.edu/liblog/?feed-stats-url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5saWJyYXJpZXMudWMuZWR1L3NlcnZpY2VzL3N0cmMvaW5kZXguaHRtbA==">Student Technology <img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-17249" style="margin: 10px;" title="strc3" src="http://www.libraries.uc.edu/liblog/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/strc31-300x190.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="190" />Resources Center</a> (STRC) will provide an open, comfortable, and high-tech environment in the center of Langsam Library’s fourth floor for students to work on an array of technology projects. As in the past, the renovated STRC will include 10 computer stations where students may work independently or in small groups to design web pages using a variety of software to help with projects starting with PowerPoint presentations to electronic theses and dissertations. New to the redesign will be a Video Production Studio complete with green screen capabilities. Please stay tuned for detailed updates on STRC!</li>
<li>A new Adaptive Technologies area with computers with large screen monitors, Dragon Natural Speaking dictation software, and JAWS screen reading software.</li>
