The NAARI CampusGuide was created in conjunction with UC Blue Ash College’s National African American Read-In event and is also at http://guides.libraries.uc.edu/ucba-naari. This guide represents selected “Must Read” Books by African American Authors (recommended by Black Caucus Members of the National Council of Teachers of English, and compiled by Sandra E. Gibbs) and additional items that are available via UC Libraries.
Volunteers readers can obtain a reading in the following ways:
- Bring your own short reading by a favorite African American author.
- Choose from a variety of readings compiled by the event committee located in the Writing and Study Skills Center. These selections are available to faculty, staff, & students.
- Borrow a title from the UCBA Library’s NAARI display.
- Use the NAARI CampusGuide to find and request items available at other UC Libraries.
Volunteers can sign up here. A brief list of reader instructions will be sent out once the volunteer list has been compiled. In addition, volunteers will enjoy a complimentary lunch on the day of the Read-In and receive a commemorative bookmark.
