April 18, 2011 - With an upcoming reception and lecture, the University of Cincinnati Libraries and the Henry R. Winkler Center for the History of the Health Professions, along with the Cecil Striker Society for the History of Medicine celebrate Cincinnati's 25th General Hospital, which served with honor providing medical care during World War II.
The event, scheduled for Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 4:30 p.m. in the Winkler Center, E Level, Medical Sciences Building (MSB), 231 Albert Sabin Way will feature Dale C. Smith, senior vice president, professor of medical history, professor of military medicine, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, who will present the lecture "Caring for Those in Harm’s Way: From the University to the ETO and Back." He will be followed by Jay Johannigman, professor and chief, Division of Trauma and Critical Care, UC College of Medicine, who will present "Military Medicine in the 21st Century."
