Books Good Enough to Eat -- Create an Edible Book for the International Edible Books FestivalMarch 4, 2008 – For the 7th consecutive year, University Libraries will celebrate the International Edible Books Festival with an event scheduled for Tuesday, April 1 from 1-2pm in the 5th floor lobby of Langsam Library. University Libraries is seeking people interested in creating an edible book for the viewing and consuming enjoyment of those in attendance at the event.
There are few restrictions for those interested in creating an edible book - namely that the creation be edible and have something to do with a book. Past entries have included such edible titles as Green Eggs and Ham, In Cold Blood, The Very Hungry Catepillar, and To Kill a Mockingbird among other literary greats.
As in year's past, entries will be judged according to such categories as "Most Delicious," "Most Hilarious," "Most Creative," "Most Deadly," and "Most Literary." An award for the "Best Student Entry" will be awarded with the winner receiving a $25 gift card to the UC Bookstore.
