Eighteenth Century Collections Online, Part II: Early Editions
http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/ucinc_main?db=ECCO
The UC Libraries now have access to Eighteenth Century Collections Online, Part II: Early Editions. Created specifically to supplement the original Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO), a database of digital images of every page of 150,000 books published during the 18th Century, New Editions delivers the online ease and depth of content that made ECCOa must-have resource for scholarly libraries worldwide. Enhancements to the database include: nearly 50,000 new titles of previously unavailable or inaccessible materials; cross-searchable content from Early English Books Online from ProQuest; Image Gallery, Most Popular Searches and Key Documents sections; and contextual essays and chronology aimed at novice researchers. Both the original ECCO and Early Editions are available online at http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/ucinc_main?db=ECCO. UC's access to Eighteenth Century Collections Online, Part II: Early Editions was made possible by funding from the Charles Phelps Taft Research Center.
LexisNexis CONGRESSIONAL SETS
LexisNexis U.S. Congressional Serial Set Digital Collection (1789-Present)
http://web.lexisnexis.com/congcomp/form/cong/s_pubadvanced.html?DateRestrictionControl=ALL
This digital archive offers complete coverage of the U.S. Serial Set from 1789 to the present. Part I covers the period from 1789-1969 and represents 12,880 Serial Set volumes and 38 American State Papers volumes. Containing more than 10 million pages of government publications, the Serial Set Digital Collection documents agriculture, Westward Expansion, scientific exploration, politics, international relations, business, and manufacturing. The documents, including illustration captions and table and map titles, are fully searchable PDFs.
Part II of the Serial Set Digital Collection contains all published House and Senate documents and reports from 1970 to the present. The reports are usually from congressional committees dealing with proposed legislation and issues under investigation. Researchers will find them valuable because they explain the legislative intent of bills under consideration. Part II includes: reports on proposed legislation, issues under investigation, reports from executive departments and independent organizations, and annual reports of non-governmental organizations. Both parts of the Serial Set Digital Collection have been combined into one easily searchable database that covers the period of 1789 to the present.
LexisNexis U.S. Congressional Hearings Digital Collection
http://web.lexisnexis.com/congcomp/form/cong/s_pubadvanced.html?DateRestrictionControl=ALL
Giving researchers access to the content of both published and unpublished hearings, the LexisNexis Congressional Hearings Digital Collection forms an unparalleled documentary record of events and public policy issues faced by America, as well as the objectives and actions of Congress in dealing with these events and issues. This addition to the growing digital collections available through LexisNexis Congressional brings added value to the library’s online Congressional resources by allowing users to search across multiple collections with a single search. This database includes full transcripts of the proceedings, including all oral statements, committee questions, and discussion. Also included are the texts of related reports, statistical analyses, correspondence, exhibits, and articles presented by witnesses or inserted into the record by committee members and staff.
Retrospective A: covers the period of 1824-1979 and has 73,000 titles and 12.8 million pages
Retrospective B: covers the period of 1980-2003 and has 44,400 titles and 11 million pages
As with the Serial Set, both Congressional Hearings Retrospectives have been combined into one easily searchable database. Note: Fulltext is available from 1824 to 2003, with indexing available from 1824 through the present.
