LOOKING FOR AN E-BOOK?
The Libraries provide online access to over 535,000 e-books. Below is information on a few major e-book collections.
Early English Books Online (EEBO)

Early English Books Online (EEBO) contains over 125,000 titles listed in Pollard & Redgrave's Short-Title Catalogue (1475-1640), Wing's Short-Title Catalogue (1641-1700), and the Thomason Tracts (1640-1661). Among the thousands of titles featured in EEBO are works by Thomas Malory, Sir Francis Bacon, Desiderius Erasmus, Robert Boyle, Sir Isaac Newton, and Galileo Galilei; musical exercises by Henry Purcell and novels by Aphra Behn; prayer books, pamphlets, and proclamations; almanacs, calendars, and many other primary sources.

Eighteenth Century Collections Online provides access to the digital images of every page of 150,000 books published during the 18th Century. This collection makes is possible for researchers to access critical information in such fields as history, literature, religion, law, and fine arts by well-known and lesser-known authors.

The Electronic Book Center contains the full text of thousands of scholarly and reference e-books from several publishers including ABC-CLIO, Gale, Oxford University Press, Sage, and Springer, covering a diverse group of subject areas.
PsycBOOKS

From the American Psychological Association (APA), PsycBOOKS is a database of more than 16,000 chapters in PDF from over 1,000 books published by the APA and other distinguished publishers. The database includes most scholarly titles published by APA from 1953-2005. It also includes 100 out-of-print books and a total of more than 400 classic books of landmark historical impact in psychology.

ACCESS TO ELECTRONIC DISSERTATIONS & THESES

ProQuest provides access to 2.4 million searchable citations to dissertations and theses from around the world from 1861 to the present day. Over 1.2 million full-text dissertations are available for download in PDF. The database offers full text for most dissertations added since 1997 and strong retrospective full-text coverage for older works. More than 60,000 new full-text dissertations and theses are added to the database each year through dissertation publishing partnerships with 700 leading academic institutions worldwide. The database also offers access to a body of over 10,000 University of Cincinnati electronic dissertations and theses in full text.

SEARCH LIBRARY RESOURCES IN NEW WAYS AND NEW PLACES
Library Widgets and Toolbars

The Libraries now offer widgets and Internet browser toolbars for use while conducting research online. Once installed, these tools provide quick access to useful library links, the UC Library Catalog, key article databases, online journals, UC resources, and more.
The Libraries’ widget, a self-contained application embedded into a personal Web page on Facebook or iGoogle, provides quick and easy access to frequently used library search engines, collections, library help, and off-campus access information. The Internet toolbar allows users to perform quick searches of the UC Library Catalog and other major library databases, as well as link to other library and UC applications. Toolbars are currently available for the Internet browsers Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.
