Off Campus Access - Due to subscription and licensing agreements, certain library resources are restricted to UC faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students.
The page also has information and tips related to off-campus access.
Once you log in, you will be returned to the library homepage. The word "proxy" should appear somewhere in the URL (e.g. proxy.libraries.uc.edu/). If you see that, you are in the proxy server. As you navigate to the online resource you're interested in using, if you get to your destination and you no longer have "proxy" in the URL, you may have fallen out of the proxy server.
Ask a Reference Question - Contact a librarian through Chat, by Email or by Phone.
Access to eJournals- if you already know what article(s) you need, find the journal and article(s) and access the full text via the eJournals page.
Getting Full Text not Available Online - Electronically request articles that we do not own or that we own in print only. "Pull and Copy" – save time by letting us scan a journal article and email it to you! Enter requests through the Library "Request an Article."

Obtaining Print Books - Pick up Anywhere – If you live in Ohio you can request books through OhioLINK and have them sent to the member library of your choice. Here are the instructions:
- Request an item from the OhioLINK Library Catalog.
- Select your institution. Enter your name and ID.
- Select a pickup institution (any participating library of your choice) from the list.
- Select a pickup location at the pickup institution.
You'll need to take a picture ID with you when you pick up your requested materials. OhioLINK materials can also be returned to any participating library. For more information, go to OhioLINK's Catalog and Online Borrowing: Frequently Asked Questions.
For those outside the Ohio area, if you need a print publication to support your course work, the University of Cincinnati Libraries will work with you to supply the materials. Library materials will be checked out in your name and mailed to you. Please note that you will be responsible for returning materials by the due date via a traceable mail service, such as UPS or FedEx. Creating Shortcuts to UC Research Tools: Library Toolbar & Widget - The Library Toolbar acts as a companion to Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browsers. The toolbar allows you to search UC's online catalog, other library search engines, and go to links for other library related applications quickly, right from your browser.
The UC Libraries Widget is a self-contained application that you can embed into your personal web space on sites such as Facebook and iGoogle. It provides quick and easy access to frequently used library search tools and information.
