Computer Printing Procedures and Charges
The University of Cincinnati spends $600,000 each year to provide to students and others "free" printing in computer labs and libraries. In 2003, UC joined the majority of universities in instituting a system to manage printing. Black and white prints cost $.07 per page and color prints cost $.50 per page, less than Kinko's and most other printing facilities.
At the Academic Health Center, computers in the following locations operate on the new system:
- Health Sciences Library
- College of Medicine (COM) medical student lounge
- COM graduate student lounge
- COM E-level 24 hour computer lab
- COM Student Affairs computer lab
Wireless Printing is available in the Health Sciences Computer Lab. Currently printers 3 and 11are available through the wireless printing system.
College of Medicine Students
The College of Medicine generously subsidizes printing for its medical and graduate students. Each student printing account is given a $100 value (i.e., > 1400 B&W pages free) on July 1 of each year. On February 3, 2003, the initial prorated allocation is $42.
