Info Commons
As a first-stop service point, the Info Commons offers personalized assistance to library users.
Info Commons areas contain the latest technology to assist patrons with their research needs and are staffed by professional librarians and peer mentors.
Librarians and peer mentors help:
- Simplify the process of locating information
- Find information about the Libraries' resources and services
- Find books and other materials using online catalogs
- Find periodical articles, i.e. newspaper, magazine, and journal articles using electronic indexes and databases
- Evaluate information sources
- Locate appropriate service points within University Libraries and other campus departments
Locations: The libraries currently have six Info Commons areas:
Info Commons @ Langsam
Located at the fourth floor entrance of Langsam Library serves all UC students, faculty, and staff by providing research services and some specialized assistance with library resources and facilities.

Info Commons @ CECH Library
Located on the lower level of the library, the Info Commons provides access to 12 computer workstations and two flatbed scanners.

Info Commons @ College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) Library
Located in the College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) Library on the eighth floor of Baldwin Hall. Serves students, faculty, and staff in CEAS and provides facilities and assistance for Engineering-related hardware and software.

Info Commons @ Geology-Mathematics-Physics
Located on the second floor of Braunstein Hall, Info Commons serves students, faculty, and staff of Geology, Mathematics, and Physics, and includes eight computer workstations, CD-ROM workstations, and printers.
