The goal of the University of Cincinnati Libraries Distance Learning Service is to ensure that distance learners have convenient access to library services and electronic resources. Distance learners include students registered for online courses as well as those enrolled in off campus courses. Contact us with your questions, suggestions, or comments.
Connecting to UC Library resources from off-campus: Learn how to connect to library resources and services.
Create a Library PIN: When you register for classes a library record will be created that allows you to request and borrow library materials, and use electronic resources. You need to create a PIN for your record in order to use these services.
Your Library Record: Manage your library account (modify your PIN, update your contact information, view due dates, etc.)
Article Resources: Links to hundreds of databases.
Electronic Reserves: Access to materials instructors have made available to your class (requires course password provided by the instructor).
Free Learning Object Resources: Links to repositories of free online learning materials in a variety of formats to enhance your e-learning.
Full-text Journal Finder: Quick and easy way to locate full-text journals by title.
Images and Sound: Image, sound, and multimedia databases.
Reference Resources: Access to many useful online reference resources, including encyclopedias, biographical resources, and dictionaries.
Online Books,Databases and Journals: Search UC's catalog to locate electronic books as well as links to hundreds of databases and electronic journals. To search the entire library catalog, including both electronic and print resources, click here.
The majority of the resources that support your study are available online.
Ocassionally, you may require a print publication to support your course work. University Libaries will work with you to supply the materials you require. Library materials will be checked out in your name and mailed to you. Please note that you will be responsible for returning materials by the due date via a traceable mail service, such as UPS or FedEx.
